    Update on Silvana Estrada

    Update on Silvana Estrada

    Hey All,

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the news that due to her visa being denied, Silvana Estrada will not be able to join us this December on the west coast.

According to our lawyers, who incidentally have a 99% success rate with these petitions, Silvana should have been a slam dunk. We applied for a P3 or “unique cultural performer”visa. We had 5 esteemed professionals attest to her talents and uniqueness at length. Still she was denied.

She has an extensive amount of video on social media where she is playing...uniquely Mexican music. She made a great record which is on Spotify at the moment with another to be released In February.

All we wanted to do was put this really great music in front of people.

Again, we did all we could and I am sorry we won’t be able to play for you.

Mostly I am sorry for Silvana who worked her ass off and jumped through every flaming hoop put in front of her.
She should’ve been a slam dunk for this visa . The reason given was that we couldn’t prove that she was “culturally unique” enough to qualify for the visa. Please listen to her record on Spotify and tell me what you think.

I will still be playing the gigs we have booked with Carter Mclean and we are lucky enough to have Rob Dixon on tenor saxophone as well.

Yours in the brotherhood-sisterhood of music and culture.

    CH

P.S. Please do me a favor and share this record:
